Artist Spotlight | T.S. Harris
Inspired by vintage photographs and movies from the 1940's and 50's, artist Tracey Sylvester Harris transforms black and white memories into dazzling light and color. By cropping into her subjects, Harris removes the context of their actions to create an element of mystery and allure in each painting. Her work reminds me of the art found in my favorite movie, Something's Gotta Give (remember when Jack Nicholson's character comments on the sunbathing beauty painting on the mantel?:) I'll be ordering this piece for my own mantel, and a few others to decorate my family's new lake house.
